Hello all,
up to now, the FDK-AAC-DABplus project contained four “things”:
- a patched FDK-AAC library
- libtoolame-dab
- the sources for the dabplus-enc tool
- mot-encoder
This structure makes it difficult to follow updates happening in upstream FDK-AAC (and there are some interesting changes there that could improve audio quality!) and to contribute our DAB+ changes back to FDK-AAC. Restructuring this might also simplify packaging.
This is the reason why FDK-AAC-DABplus has been replaced by
ODR-AudioEnc, containing libtoolame-dab and the odr-audioenc encoder binary ; fdk-aac with the DAB+ patches re-applied on top of the latest upstream version ; ODR-PadEnc, successor to mot-encoder.
For now, ODR-AudioEnc v2.0.0 has been released, a release for ODR-PadEnc is pending. I will ask upstream fdk-aac to accept our DAB+ patch.
